Getting ready for HALLOWEEN

I personally love Halloween, and everything that is incorporated with the holiday. The best part about Halloween is the ability to dress up.... its an opportunity to be creative!
Can you guess what we are going to be?
Hint: Put these two pictures together... and see if you can guess.

FINALLY.. the day has come- INTERNET

Yay... I am so excited to have Internet and cable at our house. James was able to watch the game on TV even though most of the time he was sleeping. My sweetheart has been fighting a cold for the past couple of days. Just wanted to share my excitement and utilize our money's worth of Internet surfing.

THREE "New" things:

HEADLINER:
1) I am stuck in my office... BORED 2) while missing the warmth of my long hair 3) and longing for the solitude of our cozy basement apartment.

OK, so it wasn't that subtle but I hoped you picked up on the three "new" things in my life, even though they all happened at the end of September about two weeks AGO, man where does time go? Ok so I know since I have now let the cat out of the bag, I need to provide some proof of the following: my really really short hair cut and our cute little home. Those pictures will come as soon as I find my camera... so relatives that I have visited in the past two weeks- Heads up for my little camera, thanks! I wanted to experience the shock response of how short my hair is, but so much time has gone by I sadly don't think I will get the same response. Anyways, we still don't have Internet or cable, which is why I am still at the office 8:00 at night and James is over at his brother's watching the game on their projector screen. Hopefully, one of these days we can sit on our very own couch together with me blogging and James enthralled in a sports game aired only on cable.
And I am a working women now... with my own office. I work at Stevens-Henager College as a financial aid adviser... next thing to accomplish- Office DECOR!! I love being a GIRL!

Weekend FUN...

So most people believe that when a couple gets married they pretty much fall off the face of the earth. Well, James and I believe that we are the extreme opposite and try our hardest to get out there to spend time with family and friends. This weekend was filled with such quality time with friends and family:
FRIDAY- BODYWORLDS 3
and the story of the heart
We went to this controversial display of "art". Well, James informed his brother Jeff that the reason I wanted to indulge in such activity was because I love art. I am not sure where the train of thought came from, though I do love art, the real reason I really wanted to experience this event was who wouldn't like to see how our bodies work and what makes us tick. I love the "why" questions, and this was the perfect opportunity to get some answers especially for the questions pertaining to my own body. Therefore, James was sweet enough to give in to my curiosity, and even was able to persuade his mom and dad to join us for the evening. It was a night of discovery, learning, laughter, and even a few tears- from Bryan. It was so exciting that one older man who was a bigger fellow, even fainted from the rush- though it might have more to do with the fact the AC was broken and the temperature was a little uncomfortable. After we gained tons of educational knowledge about taking care of our bodies and heart, we decided to go to Olive Garden and stuff our faces full of fatty pastas- we couldn't pass up the never ending pasta bowl. Yummy! It was a night of culture and enlightenment, but mostly of fun and laughter.
Saturday- BYU vs New Mexico Football game

If one fun outting wasn't emough, we had a fun filled saturday as well. We of course went to the UNM vs BYU football game. Though, I am not the biggest sport fan, I was pretty excited to attend this particular game. The reason for such eagerness was because of the AMAZING weather. Most people will disagree with me on this, but I love the weather that forces you to bundle of in coats and scarfs. Not only do I love the opportunity to snuggle up next to my sweetheart, while he is trying to concentrate on the game, but I love sipping hot coco in the autumn breeze as the wind nips at your nose. By the way we won 21 to 3... go Cougars. From the pieces I gather from James, we are doing pretty well this season... right?

Miniature Golfing at Trafalga with Dippin' Dots

So after the intense game we called up some friends and headed up to Trafalga to enjoy a night of miniature golf and my favorite, DIPPIN' DOTS- banana split is by far the best. Me and James won against Madi and Garrett in the miniature golf game, we were so proud. I have to admit me and James usually win at whatever game we play against others- and we try to be humble about it. James also smoked Garrett in basketball shooting (92 to 78)... He is pretty much amazing at any sport..lol. Garrett even tried a couple times to beat the score- by a couple I mean at least ten times. After that Ashley, her cousin Megan, and Ben joined the four of us over at our house to play Cranium- my favorite game. The girls won and it was hilarious to watch everyone act out and try to get their team mates to guess... it was just a lot of fun.

ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY

One month to date, that we were able to seal our lives together to become...
MR. & MRS. James Leslie Pendleton.
Though, our courtship was a little shy of 6 months, I feel I have known him for a lifetime. It is already hard for me to remember how my life was before James, yet when those moments arise I am even more grateful for the blessings he provides to my life. I feel so blessed to be married to him... to have the opportunity to share my ups and downs with such a loving man so they may slowly emerge into our ups and downs. I have to admit that it is still hard for me to remember to refer to everything as "our" plans, money, time, family, etc., yet I feel blessed that I struggle with this obstacle rather than one of wondering if I will even get the opportunity to have a loving partner and family. Thank you, to my sweet husband, for the many moments of happiness you have already blessed my life with and may we experience billions more. Happy one Month Anniversary!

"OUR" SEPTEMBER MONTH

September... was a crazy fun filled month of weddings, Mexico, birthdays, and much more. I just wanted to take the time to write and document the many adventures we were able to experience together just in the first month of our marriage. We are having so much fun together... learning more about each other, getting use to melting our lives together, and finally having a place to call home! Here is a little update combined with some pictures and memories of our first few days together.
Sept. 1st-6th: Wedding Festivities
Mon. Pendleton Bridal Shower
Tues.
Wed. Lingerie Shower

Thur. Rehearsal Dinner at Carly and Jeff's. It was such a fun night of BBQ, balloons, flowers, great food, family and friends, and a little karaoke mixed all together....
Fri. OUR WEDDING DAY... filled with an orange burst of beauty, love, laughter, merriment, and dancing. Thanks to all the family and friends that helped to make this day so memorable for us. It was just like I had imagined and I really did feel like a "princess".
Sat. Honeymoon time... but before we left for our red eye flight, we stopped over to the Pomeroy FAMILY Reunion at Gloria's House. We felt like we didn't get enough time to visit with family members that flew in from Dallas and other parts, so we decided to spend some more time with loved ones before they left to go home.

Sept. 7th- 13th: HONEYMOON WEEK

Mon. I won't go into detail of all the events that took place during this fun, relaxing, and adventurous week, but it was wonderful....Tues. We went to the Xarcet animal/water park... James' favorite part was snorkeling, but I was too afraid of the REALLY big fish. Wed. We rented a car, drove down to Cancun, and spent the day finding seashells on the beach and playing in the really abnormal big ways in the ocean. The water was so blue... Thur. We went to the Mayan ruins- to the temples, and we had lots of fun bartering with the locals in the villages. Fri. Spent the day at the resort just enjoying the sun, beach, and blue chair under the cabana.
Sat. Geneve's 25th birthday. Fly home!!

Sept. 14th- 20th: Get unpacked and Settled

Sun. Geneve and Ryan got engaged in a hot air balloon. Stay at Carly and Jeff's and BEGAN the process of moving... and it did take a while though I thought I did a good job at "cleaning house" before we left for summer sales. I guess there are a few more things I should get rid of..maybe. Mon. MOVING day... we finally got the opportunity to start settling into our apartment.
Tues. DI SHOPPING for furniture.. we were able to find a dresser, kitchen table and chairs, and bookshelf. More moving and organizing....
Wed. Job interviewing started
Thur. finished spraying the DI furniture we bought and clean the extra bedroom.
Fri. Geneve and Ryan were suppose to come over for dinner, but canceled due to the fact their car got towed right before they were suppose to leave for our house. Therefore, we had the pleasure of Ali and one of her friends from the mission come over for dinner. Afterwards, I helped Ali "unique-ify" some necklaces she bought and catch up on life together.
Sat.

Sept. 21st-27th:

Sun. FIRST sunday at our NEW family ward. Everyone was so welcoming... that James made the statement, "This ward is really observant" after five people came up to ask right after sacrament to ask our names and if we were new.
Mon. Katy got a JOB at Stevens-Henager College as a financial Aid Planner.
Tues. Go over to Carly and Jeff's to wathc football and play games.
Wed. Katy's 1st day at her new job. It was Jeff's Birthday, so we went to Pier 49 for pizza.
Thur.
Fri.

Sat. met up with Megan to get our wedding reception pictures back and finish James' birthday gift. Golf Day for the boys' birthday. It was such a beautiful day that we decided to go golfing as a family. It was fun to play with everyone since I am at the VERY beginning stages of learning how to play. It technically was only my 2nd time to golf, but I would like to think I am doing pretty well for a newbie (and I think James' is pretty impressed with my golf skills as well).

Sept. 28th- 30th:
Sun. JAMES' 25th BIRTHDAY... Go to Mama Pendleton's house for Sunday Celebrations for James' birthday. Of course, we had roast and potatoes because it is James' favorite meal. It was very yummy.... and tasted like a complete feast.
Mon.
Tues.
Ashley comes over to visit... We loved spending time just hanging out and trying to decide who we should set her up with. Isn't it funny as soon as someone gets married they feel the need to step up all of their single friends.

There are many events that happened during this month and I am sure that I have missed some, but James can add them in later... I hope that this gives a little insight into our world as a NEWLY married couple.
